Owl’s Head – by Lynn Thomas Amber
Carved by glacial force
Rising above a kettle pond
Keeps a watchful eye.
Owl’s Head Trail to the summit has always been one of our favorite hikes in the Groton State Forest. We always made the trek to the summit with our young family back in the day when we camped at the Stillwater campground each summer. Many times I admired the view of Kettle Pond from Owl’s Head. It’s nice to change the perspective and view Owl’s Head from the pond!
